The Stackable Candle Trays Template

Your Clay Date is waiting!

Hey, it's Femke and Rosalia here.
We're so glad you’re doing this with us!
Everything you need for our clay date lives here:

  • Tools and Materials

  • A 3-part video series for preparing your clay

  • Your Template download + assembly video

  • Your coloring and glazing guide

Before you start
Set the scene.

Clear your table.
Set up your home studio.
Put on a playlist or a podcast.
Grab something to drink and a snack.
Breathe, then start.

This works just as well solo as it does with your favourite person.
Just saying!

Let's talk tools. Here's what you'll need:

What you probably have at home:

  • Printer and paper

  • Scissors or craft knife

  • Tape

  • Rolling pin*

  • Craft or kitchen knife*

  • Sponge with water*

What you can buy at your local store:

  • Guide sticks

  • Work board (MDF, wood or canvas)

  • Clay (air-dry or kiln-fired)

  • Rib tool (rubber or metal, an old credit card works, too)

  • Scoring tool (or a fork*)

  • Small brush

  • A low- to mid-fire clay with a little fine grog (20%–40%)

*Don't use tools you stole from your kitchen for cooking after they've become magical clay tools.

A quick watch before you dive in.

Three short videos — for when you've never done this before!

Your download

Okay. Here it is.

Ready to print and cut.
Print at 100% scale.

Make sure "Scale to fit" is off and print size is set to 100%.

Now go make your thing.

Your template is ready, your clay is waiting.
Here's a quick video showing you how to put it all together.

Color choices & glazing.

Here's how we color, glaze, and finish our trays.
You can follow along exactly and get the same results — or use it as a jumping-off point and make something that's completely your own.
There’s really no wrong way!

This one's just for you. Please don't share, forward, or pass on this page or its downloads — it takes a lot of love (and chocolate) to make these. If someone in your life wants in, send them to clayslabclub.com. We'd love to have them!
