How it works
Step 1
Browse the shop and find your next project. Mug or plate, beginner or intermediate, air-dry or kiln-fired — totally up to you.
Step 2
Prep your template. Roll out your clay, cut your shapes. Never done it before? We have three free videos that show you exactly how.
Step 3
Make your project. We guide you every step — full walkthrough video, coloring combos, glazing tips. You just show up and have fun.
Step 4
Hold it in your hands for the first time. Turn it around. Look at what you made — from a flat piece of clay to something real, something beautiful, something entirely yours. Keep it, use it every day, or give it to someone who'll love it as much as you do.

About us
Femke's pottery journey started with a spinning wheel fantasy (think Molly and Sam…). Rosalia grew up building ceramics with her mum in Spain and knew better.
They met working together at advertising agency Frida von Fuchs, bonded over design, and ended up building a clay club together.
Rosalia brings the craft heritage. Femke brings the beginner's perspective. Between the two of them, they've figured out how to make slab building feel like something anyone can actually do.
No wheel.
No third grade art class vibe.
Just really good projects and a great time.

Ok, so this is pottery…
No, you can simply take
a template, darling!
What they say about us
full disclosure:
We just launched, so yes, this is friends and family mostly.
But they tried the real stuff and we didn’t help them!

I was the guinea pig — total newbie, zero craft experience. Could I actually pull off the candle tray? Turns out, yes. Looks genuinely good and I had way more fun than expected. Didn't dare paint it in the end — but next time I will!

I came in hot and contacted the team before the site was even live, convinced something had gone wrong. Not my finest hour. They sorted it out, calm and kind, even though it wasn't their fault at all. They even gifted me a free template. Lovely team.

Femke and I are family, so I’m not super objective. I do have some pottery experience, so my perspective may be helpful. The templates are unique and have different options, which you do not see often. And the glazing ideas? That is the hardest part always. Very happy with the outcome!

The mother, 63, Spain
I have been doing wheel pottery for many years, so handbuilding is not really my thing. But my daughter told me to try and I am very glad she did. The videos are very clear and the templates are modern and beautiful — not what I expected! Everything is so well made, the whole look of it. Very proud of what these two have built. Muy bien, chicas!

Rosalia and I know each other from the design scene here in Berlin. I crochet, so clay is not exactly my world — but I tried the Wall Tulip and had so much fun. I have made nine of them now. Maybe ten. I lost count. I keep giving them away and then making more. Air dry, super easy, very chique. If you are a maker of any kind you will get it immediately.

Burning Questions
Do I need any prior experience?
God no! Clay Slab Club was built for people who have zero to very little experience. (Hi, that was us once too!) Every project comes with a full video walkthrough — and if you want, you can even follow our color combos etc. We got zero ‘figure it out on your own’-moments — only if you want to!
What do I actually get when I buy a template?
A downloadable PDF with the paper template — it’s yours! But that's just the start. Every template comes with its own webpage where you'll find a full walkthrough video, step-by-step instructions, glaze or color combinations, and ideas for variations and finishing touches.
So you're never just getting a shape — you're getting the whole project!
What equipment do I need?
Way less than you’d think. We put together a free Home Tool Kit with a complete shopping list. Grab a few things from your kitchen drawers, pick up some cheap tools and clay from your local craft store or online, and you're good to go!
Do I need a kiln?
Nope! No kiln, no drama!
You can totally make really fancy decorative stuff with air dry clay. Just keep in mind that your pieces won't be fully waterproof or food safe though. If you want to make kitchen and tableware, a quick Google search for a local studio or ceramics shop will do the trick — they'll most likely have a firing service or know someone who does! Don’t be shy, they’ll love to have you!
Is this actually for me?
If you've made it this far down this page, something clicked!
Maybe it's the idea of making something beautiful with your own hands. Maybe it's the thought of a Sunday afternoon with some clay, a good playlist, and zero pressure. Maybe you just really want that perfect mug.
Whatever brought you here — we think you're exactly the kind of person this was made for!
Welcome, Friend ×
I've been doing pottery for years. Is this still for me?
Absolutely! Our templates are designed to take the prep work off your plate — so you can spend less time measuring and more time experimenting. You’ll make the templates your own: adjust the proportions, mix up the glazes, combine techniques. Think of it less as following instructions and more as having a really solid base to riff on.
